A very good and free alternative to paint shop. I use this for editing and cropping many of the images on the site.

A simple but effective tool to generate great looking text. Choose from a vast array of fonts, skins and colour schemes. This is what I used to create the banners on the site.

You are on blogger now. This is what hosts my site, pictures, comments etc. It's free to sign up and very easy to use. The interface is a little basic (which is why I type up elsewhere) but you can input in html if you want something more advanced. It's owned by google so it offers easy integration with other google products.

Malwarebytes (mbam)
This is a superb anti-malware program, even in the free version mode that I use myself and is often regarded as the number one choice for detecting computer nasties. You have to update and scan manually but it's worth it.
AVG Free 2012
This is the virus scanner that I use, it integrates well with browsers and can be set to automatically download and scan.
Browsers
My site stats show that a 3rd of my visitors view the site via Internet Explorer. The stats include mobile visitors so the number of PC visitors using IE would be much higher than a 3rd if those mobile visitors were discounted. I personally use firefox at the moment but have used Opera and Chrome too. All three are very good and Opera is the browser of choice on my android phone.
