"The whole area will then be left until final site clearance at the start of the next century in 2105."
In 2105 you may finally have hover boards but you'll still need to clean up the mess we left you. Share via twitter | facebook |
That means that in 89 years from now the workers who haven't been born yet will be returning to the Wylfa site in order to clear up the mess that we have left for them.
According to StatsWales the average life expectancy on Ynys Môn is 78.5 for males and 83.0 for females which is slightly higher than the national average (78.2 / 82.2). That means that most of us will be dead by 2105. The people who are fortunate enough to have exceeded the average life expectancy will have retired decades prior to 2105.
The people who will be working on Wylfa in 2105 will not be born until the tail end of this century. If one of the workers on Wylfa in 2105 is 40 years old that means they will not be born until 2065. If they are 30 that means they wont be born until 2075.
If you support nuclear power then you are a selfish arsehole because you are leaving a problem to be paid for and cleaned up by people whose grandparents may not even be born yet.
