Guide to the Welsh Election - 2016

On the 5th May 2016 the people of Wales will once again vote for who they want to become their Assembly Members for the next term. This then helps decided who will form the next Welsh government. I thought I'd put together a guide to explain how the Welsh elections work for the benefit of the first time voters. I'll update the page up until the election.

1. You need to be on the electoral register in order to vote.

One thing I have been meaning to do for a while is mention facebook pages and this is an opportune moment to bring it up. A lot of blogs don't have them, presumably they don't understand them or how beneficial they could be. I'm going to show you some stats that I hope make people sit back and think.

This post concerns twitter, but even if you don't use it, the exact same method is used for banking scams, so have a read and keep yourself safe online.

Most people who have used Twitter will have experienced the direct message phishing scam. It's not new, it's been around for years and yet almost every day I have people send me these on as a result of falling foul to the scam.

Firstly, don't worry if you've been affected. All you have to do is change your password. It's not a nasty virus it's just a way of taking control of your account so the scam can self replicate. In fact I went through the scam for the purpose of obtaining screen shots, that's how harmless it is providing you don't give it your details.
