The Red Dragon - The story of the Welsh Flag

The nice people at Y Lolfa have sent me a copy of Siôn T Jobbins' new book, The Red Dragon - The story of the Welsh Flag. As with the previous book review I will be giving a copy away to one lucky reader but for those who can't wait you can grab a copy from Y Lolfa here.

The cover is simple, a black background with a picture of Gareth Bale holding our flag during the celebrations after the last match of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. The back cover has a few different pictures featuring the red dragon as well as the expected synopsis and a brief introduction to Siôn. At just under 100 pages it won't put many people off, neither will the £3.99 price tag.-

Welsh History - A Chronological Outline

I recently got my hands on a review copy of Welsh History - A Chronological Outline by Glyn E German from the nice people at Y Lolfa on the premise that I'd read it, review it and then give it away in a competition. What I've instead decided to do is read it, review it, run a competition and then buy a brand new copy and send that one to the winner. Firstly it's very good so I want to keep it and secondly I'd rather give away a new one than the one I've been thumbing through for the last month.

The idea behind the book is that it's a concise compilation of Welsh history, drawn from various sources starting with the oldest recorded signs of intelligent life in Wales and the rest of this island and then moving forwards until present day. The book is split into chapters covering the different periods of Welsh history.

Most popular 'Daily Facts'

After conducting a review of the facebook posts for 2013 I wanted to also conduct a review of the daily facts that I share each day. The easiest way to do this is via the twitter posts since I already collate them here on the blog. It's basically a case of looking at the page for each month and then seeing which has the most interactions. As with the other review I will post the most popular from each month. Hopefully we can learn something from the results.

Dydd Santes Dwynwen was the most popular daily fact on both twitter and most popular picture I shared on facebook for January.

With 2013 coming to a close I wanted to conduct a couple of reviews, the first is of the posts shared on my facebook page. So I have looked back to the beginning of the year and taken the one picture from each month that had the most shares. Some months had a stand out winner, others were fairly close. But I hope this gives some sort of indication of what people like.
