At the bottom of the page was the quote, it isn't credited to anyone specific just a journalist from Africa who was sent over to Wales to cover the devolution referendum in 1997.

'We give him an assembly in Wales, and he still complains...
It would be good once in a while to get a bit of gratitude.'
~ Tony Blair
It instantly made me think of a recent picture I'd seen of the old bag Thatcher that was shared by a Scottish account which had the following quote that she had said in The Times back in 1990.
'We English, who are a marvellous people, are really very generous to Scotland.'
~ Thatcher
Thatcher vs Blair. Two cheeks from the same hole. Share via twitter | facebook |
'The fucking Welsh' - Share via twitter | facebook |
After the book was released complaints were made to North Wales Police who had to ask the CPS for advice. Naturally the whole thing was brushed aside with it being put down to Blair meaning the Labour Party in Wales as opposed to the people of Wales. Perhaps the war criminal really was just miffed at his Blairites this side of the bridge and not pissed off that the people of Wales were not showing him the gratitude he believed we should have given him.
Not even half a page of Mike Parker's book and yet it gives us three brilliant anecdotes about the psyche of the people of Wales and our then colonial master. I wonder what the rest of the book will bring.
